Join us for a free community event bringing scientists and members of the public together, where attendees will walk away with a greater understanding of and appreciation for Florida's coastal, marine and estuarine resources. Engage with scientists working to preserve and protect Florida's coral reefs, seagrass beds, oyster reefs and coastal wetlands. Gain knowledge to find, understand and assess the environmental conditions in your own backyard. Experience hands-on educational activities connecting data to regional ecology and cultivating skills to communicate science in a compelling way. *Registered participants may choose to participate in one of the following Field Excursions offered on Thursday, Dec. 4: 1). Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) tour,  2). Mote Aquaculture Research Park (MAP) tour including the Florida Red Tide Mitigation and Technology Development Facility and the International Coral Gene Bank or 3). Sarasota Bay Explorers guided boat tour.
