National Estuaries Week Celebrations at GTMNERR

The GTMNERR (GTM Research Reserve) celebrated National Estuaries Week with two events hosted by the Friends of GTM Research Reserve. On Friday, September 26, 2025, the reserve came alive with an evening of oysters, a low country boil, music and an estuary celebration.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, rain or shine, the GTMNERR committed to welcoming the community to Estuary Fest 2025. The event offered educational activities and games, seining, entertainment, hands-on learning stations and food trucks. GTMNERR staff introduced everyone to the reserve’s education, research, resource management and stewardship programs. Reserve partners and organizations also provided exhibits.
