DEP Secretary visits Apalachicola National Research Reserve

It was a truly wonderful day at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (ANERR) when the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary, Alexis Lambert came to visit last week! We were absolutely thrilled to host her and some of her family as she generously spent her time touring our nature center, enjoying our award-winning film, exploring the beautiful estuary walk and climbing the lighthouse on St. George Island. She took the time to meet with our dedicated staff and gained valuable insight into ANERR's various sectors, our crucial management goals and how our collaborative efforts and valuable partnerships locally, regionally and state-wide, contribute to the overarching management goals of both DEP and National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and the protection of Florida’s resources.
