Back by popular demand, Rookery Bay’s evening science talks return with a thought-provoking theme that touches on environmental challenges and personal well-being. Each Science Nite combines education with fun featuring interactive displays, food and drinks and opportunities to mingle with neighbors and experts alike.
The first Science Nite focuses on single-use plastic in the environment, food chain and in people and wildlife. What are the implications for our coastal region, Florida’s wildlife and for our personal health? Jean Waller from the League of Women Voters Plastics Task Force presents and answers these questions. She will also provide practical ways to move away from single-use plastics recognizing that small personal changes can have a huge impact on our community.
